Providence is a small, strong, pretty sailboat that Rob and I bought in 2004. We moved aboard in 2005 having given away or sold the contents of and the home where we raised our three awesome children. The last possession to go was the family van that transported children to soccer, figure skating, hockey, moved them into and out of university dorms, family vacations, and, lastly, moved Rob and me to Providence. Our next three years were an adventure on so many levels as we lived the cruising life along the US eastern coast and throughout the Caribbean.
On our return, we settled into land-life again, somewhat, in Raleigh. Found ourselves a bit lost as we had changed during our cruising. This, such a blessing. There was wonderful time onboard those years to reflect, read, grow, study, and to trust and lean on God. So much more I’d like to re-make about myself. Yes, a work in progress indeed. God guided us through the Caribbean in our little, but formidable s/v Providence. Her name a constant reminder to us, and many who saw her on the water, of God’s love and guidance. Living in Raleigh now for several years, we have been enjoying our family, the coming of our beautiful grandchildren and making new friends. But, a sense of something missing, needed, or urged overcomes.
So, Here We Go Again. Providence has been refitted, we have moved aboard and set out. Home base will remain Raleigh.
